Masamitsu Ota
(Japanese printmaker, 1892-1975)
Japan, (1892–1975)
Masamitsu Ota designed Kabuki Actor prints in Shin Hanga style in the late 1940s and in the 1950s. This artist was long in the shadow of the great Kabuki actor portrayer Natori Shunsen. In the 1990s prints by Masamitsu Ota have seen a kind of renaissance in the appreciation of collectors. --artelino.com
