The major works of AndrT Gide, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1951, are The Immoralist, Strait is the Gate, and The Fruits of the Earth. Influential as a moralist and thinker as well as a writer, Gide used his fiction to reflect aspects of his psyche, from his hedonism and asceticism to his homosexuality.
