Colette (born Sidonie Gabrielle Colette) was one of France’s foremost novelists during the first half of the twentieth century. Her works include ChTri, La Chatte, and Gigi. Through her wry reflections on the demimonde, she brought a style that was both sophisticated and natural to the novella form.
