This rubbing of a stone tablet reproduces an inscription by Feng Yuxiang (1882-1948). The source is a classical text, roughly titled "Everything Under Heaven." Feng, a general, promoted resistance against the Japanese during World War II; during the Civil War of 1945-49, Feng sided with the Communists.
