The "Weavers Revolt" (1893-97), the artist’s first series, represents an apprenticeship of sorts in printmaking techniques. The six images, loosely based on a play "The Weavers," also demonstrate the influence of graphic artist Max Klinger and French naturalist novelist Emile Zola. The End is the final image in the group. (reprint 1963/65 - 1972)
